Daiya Patterned Needlecase

Daiya 2 is a traditional Japanese Pattern. It is reminiscent of some of the Florentine patterns we use in canvas work.

The similarity between Rozashi and Florentine work is that both have a step pattern. The difference is that in Rozashi the back of the canvas is not covered with thread. Instead of wrapping the canvas on both sides, many Rozashi stitches only have half stitches on the backside. The Japanese want to save the precious silk thread for the front of the design.

There is a How-to page included in this kit packet. Please read the page before you start. If you have questions, do not hesitate to contact me.
