Golden Butterfly is designed for the beginner. It is worked on congress cloth. A combination of traditional metal thread techniques mixed with canvas stitches and silk will be explored. Couching metal threads including, Japan metal (imitation), check, twists, cord, and pearl purl. Beads and paillettes will be used. Padded satin stitch and rice stitch are among the stitches used.

Pearsall’s Filoselle silk will also be used.
