Geometric patterns are found in all Japanese art. The patterns in this study can be found in imari plates, fabrics, paintings, on pottery, woven mats, ties for obis to name a few. The patterns to be interpreted in this study are the flax leaf pattern, nami, tortoise, and the ajiro zashi (a weaving) pattern. The colors chosen for this study are reminiscent of the cobalt  blues and rust reds found in imari designs.

The kit comes complete with ro attached to the frame, all threads, sticking paste for finishing, a Rozashi needle and an illustrated student booklet with a color image cover.
