In Flower Cloud with Butterfly the mum is a most revered of flowers in Japan. The colorful butterfly is a rainbow of colors.

The stitches are ichi dan, line – a variation of ichi dan, ni dan straight ni dan step, ni dan step double, satin, and the irregular stitch. The traditional background stitch is used.

The threads are traditional to Rozashi: silk, brocade thread, the 3- ply gold and silver metallic and urushi thread.

The piece is influenced by the flowers in a kimono in my collection.
