The subject for this class is the iris which is a much revered flower in Japan. This ancient Japanese technique of Rozashi is stitched on a specially woven silk gauze fabric called "ro". The threads are tightly twisted silk and 3-ply metallic. All are traditional to Rozashi. The stitches used in this piece include the irregular stitch, straight stitches, the line stitch, step stitches and the background stitch called Jizashi. The kit comes complete with all threads, needle, ro attached to frame and nori sticking paste.
