Course Description
Our Blue Bird is worked in traditional Rozashi. The bird is worked in 2 shades of blue Rozashi silk and a new very dark blue metallic to outline the feathers of the wing and the bird's eye. The bird's feet are worked in a special urushi thread.
The branch from the camellia is stark with sparse leaves and one small bud along the top of the branch. The branch and leaves are worked in silk with accents of gold metallic on the leaves. The small bud is worked using a brocade thread.
The stitches are traditional to Rozashi. Used in the piece are ichi and ni dan straight, satin, irregular and ni dan straight stitch.
The kit comes complete with all threads, ro attached to frame, sticking paste, a Japanese needle, and an illustrated instruction booklet.
